Joan DiLeonardi, PhD

Joan DiLeonardi, PhD has taught at Jane Addams, Loyola School of Social Work, SSA, and currently teaches at ICSW in addition to leading independent studies and consulting on dissertations. Her theoretical orientation to practice is psychodynamic general, and she has been involved in research on child abuse and neglect, chronic neglect, day care, foster parenting, and foster care workers. Dr. DiLeonardi takes part in volunteer activities including serving as trustee and a former board chair at Oakton Community College, a region chair at North Suburban, and an executive committee member of the Illinois Community College Trustees Association. She enjoys being a part of the ICSW community because it gives her a chance to help talented students grow and advance their skills in developing research questions and completing competent dissertation research.
